Bells

Twenty glass bells made out of wine bottles and juice jugs. Designed for the opening ceremony of Brightworks, a school in San Francisco. Bells were carefully placed at boundaries in the space (corners, wall lengths, etc) and then tuned to each other to make interesting intervals and beating phenomena that were re-enforced by the resonances of the room.

Glass was scored and then 'shocked' with hot and cold water to make clean edges, and sanded to adjust tones.
